We’re looking for an experienced Microsoft Fabric & Power BI Data Modeling Specialist to join a digital transformation initiative in the energy industry, focused on modernizing the Finance data landscape.

You’ll support a Digital Performance Team connecting Finance expertise with modern data platforms, reporting solutions, and digital performance management tools. The core challenge is to build a scalable and standardized data foundation within the Microsoft ecosystem, with Microsoft Fabric at its center.

Your work will directly support Finance and Controlling processes such as planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance management — helping establish consistent data models and a reliable Single Source of Truth for finance-related KPIs.

The cooperation is planned until the end of 2026, with an option to extend.

• Work on a large-scale Finance digital transformation initiative

• Build and evolve a modern data platform based on Microsoft Fabric

• Shape scalable data architecture rather than focusing only on individual reports

• Help establish a Single Source of Truth for Finance and Controlling data

• Work across Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SAP data sources, and enterprise applications

• Influence data modeling standards, data quality, governance, and architecture

• Combine hands-on technical work with consulting and knowledge sharing

• Cooperate closely with Finance, IT, Data Engineers, and other stakeholders.

• Design, build, and evolve data architectures using Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Dataflows, Semantic Models, and central data products

• Develop scalable data models supporting Finance reporting, analytics, planning, and performance management

• Design and implement a Single Source of Truth for finance-related KPIs and management information

• Integrate, harmonize, and model data from SAP systems and other enterprise applications

• Define data modeling and database standards supporting data quality, consistency, and reusability

• Develop and optimize Semantic Models, Measures, KPI structures, and time intelligence concepts

• Support the transformation of existing reporting and analytics solutions towards a modern Fabric-based data platform

• Translate Finance and Controlling requirements into efficient data models and technical architectures

• Create technical concepts, documentation, and architectural guidelines for data products and reporting solutions

• Analyze and optimize the performance of existing data structures and reporting solutions

• Share knowledge and advise business and technical teams on Microsoft Fabric, modern data architectures, and data modeling best practices

• Work in an agile SAFe environment with Finance, IT, Data Engineering, and other stakeholders.

• Several years of experience building data platforms, Data Warehouse solutions, and analytics architectures

• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Semantic Models, Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Direct Lake, and Dataflows Gen2

• Strong data modeling expertise, including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Dimensional Modeling, and Semantic Layer Design

• Expert-level SQL skills and experience modeling relational and analytical databases

• Strong Power BI expertise, particularly DAX, Measures, time intelligence, performance optimization, and data model architecture

• Experience integrating data from SAP environments such as S/4HANA, BW, or SAC

• Experience designing and implementing data governance, data quality, and standardization concepts

• Solid understanding of Finance and Controlling processes, including planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance management

• Experience delivering data-driven transformation and analytics projects

• Strong analytical and conceptual skills with an end-to-end understanding of data architectures and data flows

• Ability to translate complex business requirements into sustainable data models and technical architectures

• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work

• Very good German skills (minimum C1)

• Good English skills (minimum B2)

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a comparable qualification.

• Experience with Python or Spark

• Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Apps and Power Automate

• Experience working in SAFe environments.
